Topics:ME!

Safe for all readersAfter putting in a lot of thought to how to get things running smoothly in my own life over the last few months, I've come to a conclusion. I need to implement guide lines. Help me through some aspects. I've taken a bit of inspiration from my new company.

They have a set of values which underpin everything they do. They strive to achieve the best in all aspects. Running forward for this year I have decided I need to implment my own set of values and here they are in no particular order:

No excuses.
If I have something to do. Make like Nike and Just Do It. (tm) If I haven't done something, stop thinking of reasons why it didn't happen. Accept that it didn't happen, and don't do it. Make sure that you don't do it gain in future.

Keep it simple.
As it says. If it complicates my life, it must be simplified. However, I think it was Einstein who said it like this, "Make it simple, but no simpler". No if's nor any but's, trim down to what is needed. Be it the amount of crap I'm keeping in my house, be it people who are constanty causing problems - gone.

Introspection.
Me time. Make sure I know who I am, where I am going, what I want, understand my own motives. For years during school I use to make my way up to Northcliff Hill and watch the sunrise, think things through. Occasionally, I'd go own there and watch the lights and contemplate the meaning of it all. It was me. I knew who I was. I knew what I stood for. I want to go back to this place. Listen to what people have to say about me and learn from what they say.

Do good.
Make sure  I'm doing something with good and honest intentions. Do a good dead for someone who isn't expecting it whenever an opportunity presents itself. Although with this, I don't mean giving a begger a hand out, I mean giving a begger a hand up. Who knows, I may just sponsor someone their first year's varsity fees.

Learn in body and mind.
Grow from the experience. Push myself in every aspect I can. Be a better me. No excuses for not going to gym. No excuses for not listening to my french cd's in the car. No excuses for falling behind on whatever interesting things people can show me through whatever medium. Understand all the aspects of my new industry and apply it.

Be the best.
Strive for perfection, but understand that 80% of something is better than 100% of nothing. Start and finish. Polish and perfect after finishing.

Be creative.
Write more. Learn to dance something other than salsa.

How are you going to live your life?
